The short version: kryptoman is free and provided “as is,” with no warranty. It is designed to destroy data permanently — there is no backdoor and no recovery. Use it lawfully, and keep your device physically safe.

These terms govern your use of kryptoman, an app published by wylmi. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use kryptoman for lawful purposes. The app is provided free of charge.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure. No software is perfectly secure, and offline protection is a spectrum that depends on how you run your device.

Data loss is by design — and irreversible

kryptoman deliberately has no backdoor and no recovery. Your data will be permanently and unrecoverably destroyed if you:

trigger the panic wipe on the lock screen;
enter the wrong PIN too many times (the vault self-destructs);
forget your PIN; or
remove or change your device's secure lock screen while device-unlock is enabled.

This is intentional — it's what keeps your data safe if your device is seized. You accept the risk of irreversible data loss. We cannot recover your contacts, keys, or messages for you. There is no “forgot PIN,” no account, and no cloud backup.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the physical security of your device, for keeping your PIN secret, and for using the app in compliance with all laws that apply to you. Do not use kryptoman for any unlawful purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, wylmi and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app — including data destroyed by the app's wipe features.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which wylmi is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
