Privacy Policy
// last updated 2026-06-21
kryptoman is an offline, end-to-end encrypted messaging app published by wylmi. This policy explains what happens to your data. The honest answer is: almost nothing happens, because the app is built not to touch it.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no user accounts, no email or phone number, no contacts upload, no usage analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking of any kind.
Where your data lives
Your contacts, keys, and messages exist only in an encrypted database on your device. There is no backend server to send them to — none exists. Messages are decrypted, shown, and forgotten; the app keeps no conversation history.
The network
The app makes no network connections. It needs no internet permission to do its job; it exchanges messages as QR codes shown on screen. If you choose to relay an encrypted code through another app (e.g. a messenger or email), that transmission is handled by that other app under its privacy policy — and what you relay is already end-to-end encrypted, readable only by your intended contact.
Camera
The camera permission is optional and used solely to scan QR codes on your device. Frames are processed locally to read a code and are never stored, uploaded, or shared. You can decline it and paste codes manually instead.
Third parties
We share nothing with third parties, because we collect nothing. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Children
kryptoman is not directed to children and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
